MN Woodland Owner Webinar: Growing Your Dream Forest

GROWING YOUR DREAM FOREST Virtual Workshop
The spring 2021 Minnesota Woodland Owner Workshop (“MNWOW”) will help woodland owners prepare for spring tree planting and land management. Three 30-minute pre-recorded presentations will include:

 Jake Froyum, MN DNR, Cooperative Forest Mgmt. Program Forester
How to restore your woodland’s understory after removing buckthorn and other unwanted trees and shrubs

 Amber Jungwirth, MN DNR, Cooperative Forest Mgmt. Program Forester
How to select seedlings for your site, plant your seedlings, and protect your seedlings

 John Geissler, Saint John’s Outdoor University Director/Abbey Land Manager
Natural oak regeneration - how and when to harvest, managing understory competition, and protecting seedlings from deer browse

 After watching the pre-recorded presentations, registrants may participate in a 1-hour panel discussion with the presenters. The live Question & Answer session will be on Tuesday, April 20, 2021 from 6:30 to 7:30 PM. Resource links will be provided during the Q & A.
