Field Tour: Forest Management for Wildlife (Free)

Are you interested in creating habitat for songbirds, deer, fishers, and other wildlife in your woods? University of Minnesota Extension and partners are offering a free field tour focused on creating wildlife habitat in your woods.

You’ll learn about the key aspects of wildlife habitat in forests for different species, the new Forestry for Minnesota Birds guidebook, and creative strategies you can use to promote biodiversity in your woodland.

We will be standing and walking throughout the field tour. The trails are wide and relatively even, but one section has a steeper slope. We will walk across an inactive railroad crossing to access the trails. Please come prepared in case of cold weather or snow.

Where

We will explore the Bass Brook Wildlife Management Area in Grand Rapids; please park and meet us at the Pokegama Dam Campground (34385 US-2, Grand Rapids, MN 55744).
