Join us Tuesday, October 19 from 6:30 to 7:30 to ask natural resources professionals questions about how to use a timber harvest to generate income to developing wildlife habitat, developing and maintaining trails in your woods, and managing for reptiles and amphibians on your land.
Presenter: Troy Holcomb, MNDNR Cooperative Forest Management Forester
Title: Using a timber harvest to meet your woodland ownership goals
Presenter: Neil Slifka, MNDNR Non-Game Wildlife Specialist
Title: Constructing and maintaining trails in your woods
Description: Care is needed to place trail in your woods in locations that minimize future problems like erosion and introduction of invasive species. Maintaining trails is also important to prevent erosion and the spread of invasive species. Knowing the topography of your woods and soil type is important when planning, constructing, and maintaining trails.
Presenter: Misi Stine, environmental educator
Title: Managing for reptiles and amphibians on your land
Description: Minnesota is lucky to have a wide variety of reptiles and amphibians species across the state. Providing habitat and support for them on your land will be an important part of conserving many of these species, today and into the future. Learn about what these species need to survive and thrive, and how you can help with citizen science in tracking information such as their abundance and distribution.
