WHAT: A conference featuring expert keynote speakers on invasive species

WHERE: Attendees can access the morning keynote speakers' session via Zoom from anywhere they choose, including any of eight participating Research & Outreach Centers (ROCs). If you wish, join us at The Rosemount ROC, as we will host the virtual session viewing. Afternoon sessions will be hosted in-person at participating ROCs. We invite you to join us at the Rosemount ROC, 16085 Alverno Avenue, Rosemount, MN.
WHY: To encourage attendees to learn the science and then take action in their own communities as well as enhance the citizen science network across the state.

9:45 - 10:00 a.m. - Arrive at the RROC, or join the virtual state-wide Zoom webinar from anywhere it is convenient for you to do so. Speakers include:

"What Makes a Species Invasive?"
2) Dan Larkin, PhD, Department of Fisheries, Wildlife and Conservation Biology
"How is data collected & analyzed? Discussion of interactions between invasive & native species"
3) Rebecca Montgomery, PhD, Department of Forest Resources
"How does the data we have play into controlling and mitigating invasives? How do we know what's working?"

12:00 - 1:00 p.m. - Lunch break*

1:00 - 3:00 p.m. - Keynote Speaker is Erik Hildebrand, Wildlife Health Program Supervisor, MN DNR, will present information on chronic wasting disease (CWD) in deer.
