Woodland Management for Wildlife and Forest Health
Do you own land in Aitkin County? Do you wonder if you are achieving its full potential?
The Aitkin Area Private Woodlands Group is hosting a workshop for private landowners to learn more about their forests, and ways they can manage them to help achieve their goals.
Date: Friday, December 2nd at Long Lake Conservation Center in Palisade.
Time: Registration will begin at 8 am and the workshop should conclude by 4:30 pm.
Cost: $20, which includes lunch, materials and entrance into a door prize raffle.
Description: There will be 3-4 presentations in the morning centered on topics like invasive species, woodland management for wildlife habitat, forest health, and how to access resources. After lunch, we will go on a walking tour of the forests at LLCC to see how woodlands can be managed to improve conditions for wildlife, recreation, water quality, and timber harvesting values. We will be outdoors for most of the afternoon, so please plan to dress accordingly.
Pre-registration is required, please contact aitkinpwg@gmail.com, or Kyle Fredrickson at 218-927-7285 or Troy Holcomb at 218-429-3025 for more information. Register using the button below.
