MAJOR events for woodland owners are coming this winter and spring.
Intergenerational Land Transfer will be discussed in two hour-long events on Thursday, December 12 and Thursday, January 9. Each is a webinar that you can get from home or particpate in one of four locations around the state (St. Paul, Grand Rapids, Duluth and Cloquet).
Two Woodland Owner Confrences are planned, one for Friday and Saturday, March 14 & 15 in Bemidji and the other for Friday and Saturday, April 25 & 26 in Rochester. Each will feature day-long workshops, tours, and 20 presentations by local professionals and University of Minnesota Extension faculty — all designed to help landowners implement their vision and keep their woods healthy, diverse, and productive.
MFA's Annual Meeting, Banquet and Spring Field Day is set for the Cloquet Forestry Center on Friday, May 16 and Saturday, May 17.
With support from the Blandin Foundation, MFA has produced two public service announcements touting the contributions private woodlands make to Minnesota's overall forest economy. Read the associated press release and then listen to and download PSA #1 and PSA #2.
